Boxes is a 2 person show with minimal set. It suits studio spaces and schools. It can run one hour, no interval or 80 minutes with an interval.
Boxes are everywhere.
Toni and TJ are siblings.
At first glance they fit nicely into stereotypical boxes.
But who are they really?
After their father dies, they find themselves in a room together.
Suddenly their close proximity causes them to reveal ground shaking facts about themselves and their family.
Unpacking stories of being mixed race in Britain with African American ancestry, being children of a soldier, being caught in gender confusion and knowing that family is never easy, the characters relive moments from their past, all to an electronic dance music underscore.
Written and directed by Sam Beckett Jr, Music Ross Marshall, Choreography Alleyne Dance
